2016 Montana Hunting Season Meetings are in January
The Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks will have 12 public meetings in January in Western Montana to gather comments on the next general hunting season.
The Fish and Game commission approved tentative rules this month and the regulations can be seen at the FWP website.People can comment there or attend one of the meetings, which are also listed on the website. The rules cover antelope, black bear, bighorn sheep, bison, deer, elk, moose, mountain goat, mountain lion and upland game birds.
For Bitterroot Valley hunters, the first meeting will be at the Bitterroot River Inn in Hamilton, Monday, January 4.
Another meeting will be January 12 at the Darby Elementary School.
Missoula's meeting will be January 21 at the Double Tree Hotel, 100 Madison St.
Each meeting will start at 6:30 p.m.
Other locations are Seeley Lake January 4, Lincoln January 6, Drummond January 7, Philipsburg January 11, Potomac January 13, Anaconda January 14, Helmville January 18, Deer Lodge January 19, and Superior January 20.
The Fish and Wildlife Commission will make their final decisions in February.
