A Busy Week at the Hamilton Playhouse
Auditions for the next Hamilton Players production, ‘Oklahoma,’ will be Sunday, December 29, and Monday, December 30, at the Hamilton Playhouse.
Director Faylee Favara said that the auditions will include ‘cold’ readings from the script, a bit of choreography and 16 bars of either a song from the show or any other piece of music. She said even a familiar tune like Happy Birthday would be acceptable.
The auditions at Playhouse at 100 Ricketts Road will start at 7 p.m. each evening and you do not have to attend both evenings. There are roles available for eight men and six women between the ages of 15 to 60. If you need more information, call the Hamilton Playhouse Box Office at (406) 375-9050. The show will be on stage in mid-February.
That starts the week. At the end of the week is the Second annual Hammy Awards- with honors for best plays, musicals, actors and supporting talent.
The Hammy Awards nominations were sent to last year’s season ticket holders, who voted on the winners of each category. The winners will be announced January 4th at the black tie gala event. The 7 p.m. celebration will cost $40 per person and tickets are available on-line at the Hamilton Players website or at the Box Office from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays (except New Years Day).
A week later, the Hamilton Players present another Improv Comedy Workshop, which starts January 10 and ends March 2nd. Open enrollment now. You will learn the basics of improv and do not need prior experience. Contact the Hamilton Players Box Office.
