Usually, it's a $5 daily fee to play around at Lake Como, northwest of Darby. Saturday, you can play for free.

June 14 is National Get Outdoors Day (GO Day). Bitterroot National Forest Supervisor Julie King said that to celebrate, the forest is waiving day use fees that day at Lake Como.

She said in a news release, "We hope people take advantage of Saturday's free day at Lake Como and also the many camping, sightseeing and hiking opportunities which we enjoy here on the Bitterroot throughout the year."

The fee waiver applies only to Lake Como's day use sites, which includes the beach, picnic areas, boat launch and trailhead.

Fees will still be charged for campgrounds, group overnight use and rental cabin fees.

Bitterroot National Forest teams will be part of the Florence Park GO Day events Saturday, too. From 9 a.m. to noon, there will be Art in the Park, bike rides and helmet swap, bird identification, a fun run , flycasting clinic, and pony rides.

GO Day started in 2008, encouraging healthy, active outdoor fun.
