Some un-Spring-like weather greeted the Special Olympians and law enforcement runners Friday as they carried the Special Olympics Flame of Hope from the south end of the Bitterroot Valley to Missoula.
The fund-raiser also is part of the journey for the flame through Montana to the site of the Summer Special Olympics in Bozeman this year.
The Ravalli County Sheriff's Office, the Hamilton, Stevensville and Darby Police Departments, the Montana Highway Patrol, Ravalli County Search and Rescue and cross-country teams from valley schools helped the athletes run along US 93 and the East Side Highway on the route to Missoula.
If you'd like to make a donation, drop it by the Ravalli County Sheriff's Office in the County Courthouse on South 2nd Street in Hamilton.
