Stevensville's Main Street was full of happy people Friday night, December 2, for the annual lighting ceremony and Parade of Lights.

First, the town lit the Commmunity Christmas Tree at Veteran's Park on the north end of town. Then, a crowd of people, led by Stevensville High School singers, walked to the intersection of 3rd and Main, where the switch was thrown to light the overhead Christmas lights that crisscross the main thoroughfare.

After a recitation of the Christmas Story and singing, the crowd dispersed to shop the late night openings, ride the several horse-drawn wagons and visit the displays at St. Mary's Mission. Santa was very popular at Valley Drug, too.

Another Christmas Tree lighting will happen Wednesday in Corvallis, when the Marty Litvin Memorial Tree at Corvallis High School will be the center of attraction, with the Corvallis High School band and choir, Santa Claus, cookies, candy and apple juice. The hour-long event starts at 5:30 p.m. December 7.
