A National Book-Writing Effort is Supported in Bitterroot
The national effort that is "NaNoWriMo" is alive and well in the Bitterroot Valley.
Mara Luther of Chapter One Book Store told KLYQ that the staff has supported the "National Novel Writing Month" for four years and even assists writers with support meetings at the Hamilton book store.
She said the goal of the month is to write at least 50,000 words (which is even harder to do now that the month is half-over). And then there's the Thanksgiving holiday and all the other things that pop up every day in Ravalli County. Chapter One has two writing sessions for those pouring out the words - November 16th and November 30th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
She said it can be done. And, occasionally, a project started during NaNoWriMo is published. But, just getting in the habit of writing every day is a valuable skill to learn - and if the month-long writing endeavor can help, that's a good thing.
You can get more information at the National Novel Writing Month website and more support, too.
