An Historic Home Restored at the Metcalf Refuge
The Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge includes an historic homestead. When you come into the refuge on the east entrance from the East Side Highway, you'll see it among some great old trees.
The workers are nearly finished with restoration. Stop and read the sign at the fence. And when you click below, you can listen to Bob Danley of the refuge talk about how the home happened to be built in the Bitterroot Valley.
