A 46-year-old Corvallis man, Jody Jake Pope, was arrested in connection with a hit and run south of Hamilton last week.

Ravalli County Sheriff Chris Hoffman said a vehicle hit a female pedestrian who was walking beside Highway 93 south of Hamilton Thursday at about 8 p.m. The 48-year-old Stevensville woman was taken to Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, but her condition has not been released.

Hoffman said witnesses reported a van swerved across two lanes and struck the woman. Both were northbound.

After investigation by Sheriff's officers, the suspect vehicle was found, and Pope was arrested Friday.

Monday, Pope was charged in Justice Court with attempted deliberate homicide, assault with a weapon, driving while license was suspended and failure to have liability insurance.
