I’m quite anxious for fall to finally get here. It’s my favorite time of year. I love the cooler weather, the leaves changing color and the pumpkin flavored everything. Pumpkin is the mascot for fall. I love everything about it, the color, the smell and the taste.
There is a rumor going around that fall flavored beer is already out on store shelves. Apparently some beer drinkers are upset because they think that summer isn’t over yet. These beer lovers don’t want to even see a fall flavored beer until the leaves start to fall. However, I love fall, and would be thrilled to have pumpkin spice beer in the middle of July if I could get it.
I am a big Nutella fan. It is just the right mix of hazelnut and chocolate in a delicious creamy spread. My kids love to eat it on plain bread or with jam. It’s a great substitute for peanut butter. I like to use it instead of peanut butter in recipes. Just make sure that the recipe you’re using it in calls for creamy peanut butter and not crunchy.
I’m one of those people who loves cooking. I love cooking with recipes that call for cans of soup because they seem to make the recipes quicker and easier. However, I hate how expensive soup is now. I can remember a time when soup was 50 cents per can. Now you’re lucky to find it on sale for a dollar a can. So, when I ran across a recipe that allows me to make cream of anything soup for just a few cents. I was excited.
The zucchini plants in my garden have been spitting out zucchinis like crazy. There’s only so much raw zucchini, barbecued zucchini and fried zucchini that I can eat. I had to find something else to do with the stacks of zucchini that were piling up. So, I did what any woman does when she needs a new recipe, I looked on Pinterest and this is what I found. It’s a delicious chocolatey zucchini bread, a little bit of dessert and a little bit of snack.
My oldest son’s birthday is this week. Every year I make my boys whatever cake they want for their birthdays. This winter I made a dirt cake for my twins for their birthday and my oldest loved it, so he requested it for his birthday. I am very excited to make this cake again, as it involves no baking, so you don’t have to heat the house up in our lovely August 90 degree weather.
With school starting again soon, I’ve been searching for a few new options for breakfast. The kids and I get tired of eating cold cereal and oatmeal on weekdays, and would love a little break from the ordinary.
