The Bitterroot Valley has been wet with rain showers, while the Bitterroot Mountains (and the Sapphire Mountains) have been turning white with snowfalls in the past few days.

The trees are past their peak for color in Western Montana, but some of the yellow larch are still evident on the mountainsides, between storms and fog banks, as this afternoon photo shows from Monday, October 31.

The nights are colder and there are less daylight hours as we move toward the long nights of winter. The change of seasons is easy to see in Montana.

And a reminder - Mountain Standard Time returns this weekend. We'll move our clocks back one hour in our annual merry-go-round of time management.
