Tuesday, July 15, the Western Ag Research Center north of Corvallis will have its annual Field Day. It's part of series of Field Days at Ag Centers across the state.

The day is sponsored by the Montana State University College of Agriculture to show what the center staff has been studying and at the Corvallis Experiment Station, meet new superintendent Zack Miller.

At 4 p.m., the staff will be introduced, and that will be followed by a free barbeque at 5 p.m., along with field and research area tours from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

The station was established in 1907 as part of an historic apple boom in the valley. The center has since done valuable research on biological weed and pest control and is currently starting new projects, including grapes.
