Bitter Root RC&D Has A Party Planned!

Three years after the 1962 national kick-off of Resource Conservation and Development councils, the Bitter Root RC&D was established.
This year, the national association celebrates its 50 year anniversary, and the Bitter Root organization will have a dinner “Light Up the Night” evening November 3rd to mark its 47th year.
Executive Director Becki Koon (second from the right in photo) describes the evening as music, a gourmet meal, silent and live auctions and awards. it will be at the Bitterroot River Inn Saturday, November 3, starting at 6pm. Some of the RC&D-assisted projects will be on display.
In its existence, the volunteer-driven Bitter Root RC&D has helped over 1,800 projects in a three-county area. One of their main roles is helping groups get a start to accomplish community improvements, often serving as a non-profit umbrella to help obtain grants and keep track of budgets. Last year, the Bitter Root RC&D was honored as the “Outstanding Council of the Year.”
With recent federal cutbacks, the RC&D needs to raise funds of its own to keep operating. As a result, the “Light Up the Night” Gala was created. The cost is $40 per ticket or $75 per couple. Individual tables can be reserved for $425, too. And thrown into the table deal will be a couple of bottles of wine.
Time is running out to reserve your seat! October 27 is the first deadline. Please call the RC&D Hamilton office ASAP at (406) 363-5450.
