Local landowners will have a chance to learn more information about the Mountain Pine Beetle in three workshops this month.

The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation will be hosting the free evening sessions in Darby, Hamilton and Stevensville at the end of February. The sessions will also provide information about the Pine Butterfly, Western Spruce Budworm and other forest pests.

Amy Gannon, a DNRC Forest Entomologist will talk about measures to protect trees and what to do if they become infested.

All the workshops will be from 6pm to 8pm. They are:

  • Tuesday Feb 21 - Hamilton Public Library
  • Thursday Feb 23 - Darby High School Lunchroom
  • Tuesday Feb 28 - Stevensville Public Library
  • Though the seminars are free, the DNRC would like you to register so they can make sure there's enough room and enough materials for everyone.
