The annual Bitterroot Celtic Games and Gathering will again fill the lush grounds of the Daly Mansion northeast of Hamilton August 20 and 21.

The festival is preparing for hundreds of visitors, who will see Highland games, pipe and drum competition, Irish and Scottish Highland dance competition, music, children's games, sheepdog herding, Highland athletic contests, scotch tasting and mead tasting, and many Celtic vendors. (There are extra charges for the mead and scotch tasting.)

The fun will start at 9 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday, opening ceremonies and parade of the clans will be at 1 p.m. The afternoon events meld into an evening Ceilidh in the music tent, closing at 10 p.m.

Sunday, again starting at 9 a.m., the Kirkan o' the Tartan church service is included, along with the entertainment and kids' athletic competition. Grand parade of the clans will be at 1 p.m., with the day wrapping up about 4 p.m.

Shuttle bus service is the main way to get to the Games. School buses will leave every 15 minutes from nearby Hamilton High School on Fairgrounds Road.
