Saturday and Sunday, August 19-20, the clans will gather under the trees of the Daly Mansion grounds for the annual Bitterroot Celtic Games and Gathering.

Hundreds are expected for the two-day event in Hamilton, with free shuttle service from Hamilton High School parking lot to the Daly Mansion. The school buses will run about every 15 minutes back and forth.

The gates open at 9 a.m. each day. The Grand Parade of clans, bands and athletes will be at 1 p.m. each day. There will be dance competition, piping competition and the athletes will be tossing the caber and other official Scottish American Athletic Association sanctioned action, including hammer throw, sheaf toss, and stone throw.

Kids 11 and under are free this year, and there are special athletic events for them Sunday.

The honored clan this year is Clan Cunningham with honored Chieftain Laura Reichart. Entertainment includes Swagger and Angus, along with TopHouse and Tom Robison.

Mead, Scotch and Irish Whiskey tastings are planned throughout the weekend. Register for those once you get to the Gathering.

A free Ceilidh will start at 7 p.m. Saturday night. Plenty of vendors and lots of opportunities to check your heritage with the clans.
