The Bitterroot Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has hired Hamilton businessman Al Mitchell to be a part-time interim director of the organization.

Mitchell will fill in as the Executive Director until the Board decides to hire a fulltime director to replace former director Rick O'Brien.

Board President John Stevens said the Board will be a "working board," helping the office staff in many areas such as legal and compliance issues, personnel, finance and accounting, marketing and projects planned this year throughout the Bitterroot Valley. Stevens said the chamber is developing a "culture of innovation."

Mitchell is a former President of the Chamber board and is the owner of the Paper Clip in Hamilton. He has been instrumental in helping the Hamilton School District host successful basketball and wrestling tournaments through the past few years. He also is on the Hamilton City Council.
