Bitterroot Community Band at Hamilton Bandshell Thursday
The Bitterroot Community Band will be home at their bandshell at Hamilton’s Claudia Driscoll Park tonight, July 13.
The free public concert starts at 7:30 p.m. and lasts about an hour as the sun sets over the Bitterroot Mountains to the west.
The bandshell was constructed a number of years ago to promote music at the park near Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital. The community band performs every other week, with a guest musical group on the other weeks.
By the way, the big fundraiser for the valley volunteer band will be July 27 at the Daly Mansion grounds, where there will be an admission charge and strawberry shortcake at intermission. We’ll have more about that coming up. The Bitterroot Community Band also performs at Stevensville’s Creamery Picnic and the Ravalli County Fair.
This concert starts a musical weekend in Hamilton. Tomorrow night, July 14, Hamilton Downtown Association has the free Music on Main with the group “Poor Henry” at 6 p.m.. Sapphire Lutheran Homes has “Western Union” at 7 p.m. as part of their free series, the popular “Shakewell” will be the Bitterroot Brewery and the Hamilton Eagles Lodge has their monthly fundraiser dance.
