Bitterroot Community Band Opens Daly Days
The Bitterroot Community Band played an eclectic mix of tunes at the Daly Mansion Thursday evening.
The band’s annual fundraiser included servings of strawberry shortcake at intermission.
The money raised pays for music and materials for the band, which plays at many community events during the summer and fall. They also perform every other week at the Claudia Driscoll Park bandshell, which they constructed.
The concert was the opening act for a weekend full of activities, centered around Hamilton’s founder’s day celebration, Daly Days.
The weekend includes more live music by rock and country bands in Hamilton, the Hardtimes Bluegrass Festival south of Hamilton, and car shows downtown and at the Daly Mansion.
For the athletes, there’s a 5k and 10k fun run at the Canyons Athletic Club, supporting the Valley Veterans Service Center, and the annual Triathlon at Como Lake. Both are Saturday.
