The first "Moon Walk" of the season for the Bitterroot National Forest will be the "Horse 101 Moon" Saturday, June 21.

The Bitterroot Back Country Horsemen will handle the program this month. Fred Weisbecker will have information about the history of the horse in the west, horse trivia and what to do when you meet a horse on a backcountry trail.

The relaxed evening presentation will start at 7 p.m. at the Blodgett Campground. Bring a lawn chair and a jacket for the talk, which lasts about an hour or two.

The next Moon Walk will be July 12th and will be the "Native Plant Moon" at Hamilton's Heironymus Park.
