Bitterroot Museum, College were Awarded Grants
Humanities Montana awarded two grants to Bitterroot organizations this spring to promote understanding of Native American culture and history.
The Ravalli County Museum (see photo) will get $3,399 to bring to Hamilton a traveling display called “Nez Perce Trail Traveling Exhibit:Celebrating the Trail and the People.”
The Bitterroot College of University of Montana in Hamilton will receive $4,984 to support a program to promote better understanding and awareness of the Salish culture and Montana history in the Bitterroot Valley. The program is called “The Medicine Tree: A Catalyst for Dialogue.”
Humanities Montana awarded over $18,000 this spring, supporting everything from book discussions to conferences. the Montana program is an independent affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
