Bitterroot National Forest Prepares a Summer of ‘Moon Walks’
The first Walk by the Light of the Moon with the Bitterroot National Forest will be June 21 at Blodgett Campground.
The series is in its 14th year of partnerships with the forest and local organizations with relaxed presentations of different subjects once a month on Saturday evenings, near the week of the full moon.
June 21st at 7 p.m. the first moon walk will be at Blodgett Campground. It will be the “Horse 101″ Moon, with presenter Fred Weisbecker of the Bitter Root Back Country Horsemen. He’ll have lots of information including history of the horse in the west, what to do when you meet a horse on the trail, and more.
The Moon Walks will also be July 12, August 9, September 13 and October 25. If you go, dress in layers, because the temperature changes during the evening outdoors presentation.
