Bitterroot Poets will be on KLYQ Radio in April
April is National Poetry Month and KLYQ 1240 AM is bringing local poets' voices to the public weekday mornings.
Over a dozen Bitterroot Valley poets have volunteered to read their creations during the month. KLYQ has recorded them (and is continuing to record a few more) and will be playing them on the radio Monday through Friday during the 7:30 a.m. Bitterroot Morning newscast.
The poems range from good ol' Cowboy poems to a young man's visions of the Ravalli County Fair. You'll hear voices from all ages - with unique talents.
KLYQ has been involved in helping establish an annual Poetry contest at the fair and often brings the gentle humor of Dominic Farrenkopf to the Friday morning Event Show. Dominic has scheduled a number of public events during April to celebrate all kinds of poetry. We'll have details of each one.
By the way, if you miss the daily poems, we'll be highlighting them each week on the Event show - between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. Fridays. KLYQ 1240 AM radio can also be heard at klyq.com.
