Bitterroot Library is Booking on A Good Book Sale
Each year, the people who still appreciate the feel of a book in their hands look forward to the Annual Friends of the Bitterroot Public Library Used Book Sale. It is happening September 25-29.
The event has expanded from a small sale on a weekend to what it is today – a monster! The downstairs meeting room of the library is the center of activity with the special Tuesday evening “Early Bird” sale, where for $3 admission you can have the pick of the piles. That runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. September 25.
Wednesday, (with Free Admission all days) the sale starts at 10 a.m. and is open until 8 p.m., Thursday and Friday the sale is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday’s sale hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Prices? I’m glad you asked. The general price is $1 per inch thick. That’s the deal from Tuesday through Friday.
Saturday, however, is “clean up” day, with a Bag Sale. All the items that fit in a regular size grocery bag will cost only $2. Bring your own bag or they have plenty at the library.
Then, at 2 p.m. Saturday, it’s a Truckload Sale – $15 per load. You must bring your own truck.
As in years past, free books will be available outside the building on the sidewalk all week long. There’s also a silent auction of some special books throughout the sale.
Volunteers are always welcome to sort and set up the books and help during the sale. Set up is happening this weekend from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
All proceeds benefit the Bitterroot Public Library. For more information call 363-1670.
