The Lee Metcalf Wildlife Refuge held their "Welcome Back Waterfowl" Day last weekend and Bob Danley of the refuge says that you can see all sorts of flying friends throughout the Bitterroot Valley as they move through to northern homes or to their summer places here in Montana.

We interviewed him about the California Quail, which have been re-introduced in the area, along with the growing flocks of wild turkeys that are strolling through the valley's towns and fields.

Bob mentioned that the turkeys (no matter how large they get) still roost at night up in trees. You can hear Bob's weekly report on KLYQ Radio Monday Mornings during "Bitterroot Morning" from 7:30 to 8am.
