Monday, November 11, Veterans Day will be special in a number of ceremonies throughout the Bitterroot Valley. Here are the ones we know about:

  • 9 a.m. - Hamilton High School gymnasium - All of the district students will attend the Veteran's Day celebration with all veterans and the public invited. Music and speeches are planned according to Daly Elementary Principal Eric Larson.
  • 10 a.m. - Darby High School gymnasium - The Darby schools will celebrate Veterans Day.
  • 11 a.m. - Corvallis American Legion and Auxiliary will have a parade in downtown Corvallis, with coffee or lunch following at Memories Cafe.
  • 2 p.m. - Ravalli County Museum - A salute to World War II veterans and those who have been on on the Big Sky Honor Flights to Washington, D.C. There will be a laying of wreaths at the WWI Doughboy statue in front of the museum, then the program will be in the old district courtroom. Refreshments will be served.
  • 2:30 p.m. - Stevensville High School gymnasium - The district students will have music and there will be a keynote speech from Ted Adams. The public is invited.
  • 6:30 p.m. - The annual Veterans Day Dinner will be at the Stevensville American Legion Post 94, three miles east of Stevensville on the Middle Burnt Fork Road. It will be a potluck dinner. Featured guests will be Boys State and Girls State delegates.
