Bitterroot Valley’s Lake Como Level is Dropping Early

It’s several weeks early, butthe moveable boat dock on the south side of Lake Como is being removed Wednesday, August 7.

Tod McKay of the Bitterroot National Forest said the water level of the popular lake has dropped steadily in recent weeks.

In fact, the swim lines near the beach area on the north shore of the lake were removed last week.

Even with the dropping water, the lake is still a great place to go, and a reminder that the recreation day pass is in effect through the Labor Day weekend. The day use and camping fees can be purchased at a number of retail stores or from any Bitterroot National Forest ranger station.

Day use passes will not be needed starting Monday, September 2.
