It's a day of triple-word scores and odd spellings that demand a dictionary.

Saturday, November 10, is the first ever Scrabble Scramble, a benefit event for Literacy Bitterroot.

Registration is $25 per person with three rounds of play planned. There will be prizes for the top three players, the highest scoring game, the longest word and more! Add to that a 50/50 raffle and snacks and drinks, and you've got a fun Saturday.

The scramble will be at the Corvallis United Methodist Church, starting at 11 a.m. There is limited seating, so get on over the Chapter One Book Store and register. Or call (406) 363-2900 and register.

Literacy Bitterroot, a 501c3 non-profit organization, has been a very successful program to help adults learn to read better, and is also a good source for GED training. They also provide "English as a second language" tutoring. Confidential and effective, the program will continue with support from fund-raising activities like this.

By the way, Scrabble is a trademark of Hasbro in the US and Canada. Hasbro has no connection to the Scrabble Scramble November 10 in the Bitterroot.
