Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital will be having a Red Cross blood during the day Thursday, November 16, and a one-hour class on memory and "cognitive health" in the early evening.

The American Red Cross blood drive will be from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the hospital conference rooms B/C. Early sign-ups are available at 363-6503. Doug will be happy to schedule a time for you. Also, you can register on-line at the Red Cross site. Remember to drink plenty of water and eat a meal before you give blood. Avoid caffeinated beverages, though. And bring your I.D.

The free Memory class will be presented by Dr. Stuart Keiran, M.D., from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Keiran is from Bitterroot Neurology and will talking about the connection between physical and cognitive health, especially as a person gets older. He'll have steps to protect yourself and also how to deal with loved ones who have Alzheimer's disease or other types of dementia.
