Last July Butte welcomed nearly 165,000 visitors over the three days of the third and final National Folk Festival scheduled for Montana, according to information from Mainstreet Uptown Butte, the lead non-profit local organizing partner for the event.
Butte is changing the name but hoping the atmosphere stays the same with three days of the first ever Montana Folk Festival this year.
Funding is always a concern and the Montana Festival Society has been formed to make it possible for smaller contributions to support the festival. It was also formed to increase awareness about the value and economic impact of special events across the state.
The Montana Folk Festival will be July 8-10, 2011. The organization would like to be able to support the growth and sustainability of special events highlighting communities throughout the state. More details are available as they develop at www.montanafolkfestival.com
