Red Ants Pants founder Sarah Calhoun brings her homegrown advice to the 2012 Montana Women in Business Conference Thursday in Hamilton.

The conference features a day of workshops from 8:30am to 5pm, with the Keynote address by Calhoun at noon. Workshops include marketing, social media, managing cashflow, government contracting and financing.

Sarah was recognized last month by the Small Business Administration as the Women in Business Champion of the Year. She founded Red Ants Pants which makes sturdy work pants for women.

The company's headquarters and only retail outlet is in White Sulphur Springs, Montana, where Calhoun embraces the small town atmosphere.

The company has also started a popular series of summer concerts.

Calhoun has been increasingly in demand on the speakers' circuit with her downhome and refreshing presentation about starting a business in Montana and the lessons she's learned.

The Montana Women in Business conference is titled "Shaping Your Business for Success and is sponsored by the Ravalli County Economic Development Authority, the Montana Women's Business Center, Prospera Business Agency and the US Small Business Administration.
