Cellphone Ban in Bozeman

The law will go through a second reading Nov 28 and if it passes will become law the middle of January.
The fine for texting or even talking on a hand-held cellphone would be $100. You will be able use a hands-free device and the ordinance does not affect those drivers on federal Interstate 90.
Towns throughout Montana are beginning to crack down on cellphone, with Missoula passing a law earlier this year against texting while driving. Studies have shown a steep decline in drivers’ attention to traffic while their using cellphones.
