Save the date for this year’s Celtic Festival Missoula (CFM) in Caras Park July 29-30th. It is the best summer celebration in Missoula, featuring Celtic music, dance and food.

The BIG NEWS this year is that for the headline performance ,CFM is flying in a band from Scotland called the RED HOT CHILI PIPERS (no, not the Chili Peppers – these are bagpipers!). They are the most famous bagpipe band on the planet. Billed as “Bagpipes with attitude, drums with a Scottish accent and a show so hot it carries its own health warning. The band's achievements have reached incredible heights with their groundbreaking fusion of traditional Scottish music and rock anthems which they proudly call 'Bagrock.”

Composed of three bagpipers, guitar, bass, two drummers and a keyboardist, the Red Hot Chili Pipers turn rock classics into Celtic anthems. Their last album went Triple Platinum. They have played such events as the 2012 Winter Olympics, the 2015 Rugby World Cup and More. The Red Hot Chili Pipers have toured internationally for years, including the UK, China, Australia, New Zeeland, Germany, Denmark, France, Spain, Belgium, Portugal, Switzerland, Barbados, Dubai, Saudi Arabia and India. They have over 300,000 fans on Facebook. This will be their first performance in Montana ! As this is such a big deal, the Red Hot Chili Pipers will perform both Friday and Saturday night at CFM.

In addition to the Red Hot Chili Pipers, CFM will feature performances by the following fine artists: Celtic Dragon Pipe Band Broken Whistle with Kelly Irish Dancers Craicers Harran Irish Dancers Montana Shamrockers Missoula Irish Dancers An Dochas with Harran Irish Dancers.

Overall, Celtic Festival Missoula offers a ten performances spread over two days. There’s also the Kid Zone, with a red hair and freckle contest for the younger ones – not to mention Irish Dance lessons and the Irish Storytelling Hour. We will have Irish Road Bowling again, an ancient game where a 28 ounce metal ball (the “bullet”) is tossed down a country road for 1.5 miles. The team taking the least number of throws to cover the distance is the winner! Join us for the height of summer celebration, Celtic Festival Missoula 2016. Admission is Free !
