In case you doubted our reports, here's a photo from the pass camera at Lost Trail Pass at the south end of the Bitterroot Valley.

Montana Department of Transportation has issued an advisory December 2 for 'Chains on Towing Units' on Us 93 Lost Trail and the adjoining Chief Joseph Pass on Montana 43.

A full day of rain in the valley and foothills Sunday has changed to ice and snow in the higher mountains. And, much colder temperatures are expected for the rest of the week - highs barely in the 20s and lows hovering around 0 degrees.

The photo we included shows the roadway in late morning, with snow still falling. The snow should stop before the early morning Tuesday, but that's when the cold creeps in.

Oh, I almost forgot - wind gusts up to 45 miles per hour. Bundle up!
