Chip Jasmin Will Present Musical Bitterroot History to Hamilton 4th Graders

Humanities Montana awarded a $500 grant to the Hamilton School District to support Jasmin’s project “Musical Bitterroot History” from April 15-19. The presentation features a wide range of subjects – geology, exploration, tribal cultures, missionaires, homesteading, farming, ranching, mining, logging and outdoor recreations. Chip uses poetry, song, dance and historic instruments to bring the lessons of the past into the present day.
He’ll also be teaching some historical and contemporary dances. The fourth grade classes will host the sessions, but guests are invited to attend.
Humanities Montana is the state’s independent nonprofit state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
