The Hamilton Performing Arts Center will capture the sounds of acclaimed musicians David Finckel and Wu Han Friday, November 20.

As a benefit performance for the Bitterroot Performing Arts Series, the cellist and pianist are donating their appearance fee to the series, which director Monica Grable said was totally unexpected and gratefully accepted. Grable said the gift will help the series establish a more permanent financial base.

David Finckel has been a longtime member of the Emerson String Quartet and Wu Han has performed at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and worldwide. Together, the two have been earning praise for their cello-piano concerts throughout the music world. They have been very active in introducing young artists to the classical audience.

The selections planned for the Friday Hamilton concert include:

  • Strauss Sonata in F Major, Op.6
  • Messiaen Louange a l'Eternite de Jesus
  • Albeniz Suite Espagnole. Op. 47
  • Glazunov Song of a Minstrel
  • Chopin Sonata in g minor. Op. 65
  • Tickets are available to the Bitterroot Performing Arts Box Office, 127 West Main in Hamilton, (406) 363-7946 or at their website.
