Construction Starts on New Hamilton Justice Center
Work begins this week on the new City of Hamilton Justice Center at 10th and Main. The fences surrounding the construction site were put in place by Jackson Construction Group and the City Council signed off on the final paperwork that allows extensive remodeling of the former National Guard armory. The finished project will house the Hamilton Police Department, the City Court and judge's chambers and the City Attorney. Hamilton Mayor Dominic Farrenkopf said crews will work through the winter with completion expected in the spring of 2019.
Two other projects in the same block will begin soon. The Circle 13 skateboard park at the northwestern corner of Claudia Driscoll Park will begin construction in mid-September, Farrenkopf said. The Circle 13 group will have a meeting of interested people Monday, September 10, at 6 p.m. at City Hall on South Second Street. The design of the skate park will be presented. Food and prizes will also be available to those attending. And there's even another project - the old restrooms at Claudia Driscoll Park will be replaced with new accessible facilities. The call for bids will go out in the next two Sunday Ravalli Republic newspapers. You can also get bid information at Hamilton City Hall.
