Daly Mansion Displays Neaves’ Montana Portraits Series

It’s hard to believe that it was 20 years ago when the Montana Portraits Series of Hamilton artist Robert Neaves was exhibited at the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman.
The unique and detailed portraits will be brought together for a special exhibition at Hamilton’s Daly Mansion starting this weekend.
Of course, the folks at the mansion are most pleased with the portrait of Copper King Marcus Daly, but other paintings include state luminaries such as Charley Russell, Jeannette Rankin, Mike Mansfield and Conrad Kohrs.
Each painting includes the portrait, surrounded by a still-life type setting of items that describe events in each person’s life.
There will be a special preview at the Mansion Friday night from 5:30 to 7pm with Robert Neaves. It’s the annual Daly Mansion Member/Donor Event.
After that, the paintings will be on display until October 7th and can be viewed by those taking tours through the elegant mansion on the East Side Highway.
