The popular Spring Speaker Series kicks off this weekend at the Daly Mansion, northeast of Hamilton.

The weekly history lessons will start at 10 a.m. each Saturday in the Trophy Room of the historic building, and are presented by members of the Daly Mansion Archives Team, along with the Montana Humanities Speaker Bureau.

Here's the schedule:

  • March 8 - Favorite Stories of Big Sky Country with Hal Stern from the Montana Humanities Speakers Bureau.
  • March 15 - Birth of the Bitterroot - 80 Million Years in the Making with Daly Mansion volunteer Bruce Gould
  • March 22 - Gold Rush! The Journey of Mrs. Daly's Father, Zenas E. Evans, presented by Mansion volunteer Paul Mogenson
  • March 29 - Countess Margit and Her Hungarian Horses, with Mansion volunteer Don Erdman.
  • April 5 - Butte, the Cosmopolitan City of Montana with re-enactor Tom Satterly of Montana Humanities.
  • April 12 - Ranches of the Bitter Root Stock Farm with Mansion volunteer Mo Lischke.
