The families that call Darby home, and those who settled the south valley of the Bitterroot are getting together for a full weekend June 17-20.
The Darby Bitter Root Descendants Reunion will be centered around the Darby Clubhouse, the Darby Park and the Darby Library. One of the organizers, Helen Bibler, said there will be two barbeques - Friday and Saturday at 5:30pm both days.
Here are some of the highlights:

  • Exhibits of specific families and local history at the Darby Clubhouse
  • Tours of the historic Lick Creek Logging Camp and Lake Como area.
  • A tour of the Lone Pine Cemetery with Gracie Knowles
  • An all-day tour of the West Fork with the "Old Bull Shippers"
  • A creative writing workshop
  • A Grand Accommodations Raffle and a Silent Auction.
  • The Saturday barbeque will include an old-time jam session, organized by Jean Roberts. Go to darbycommons.com for more information.
