The Darby Visitor Center of the Bitterroot National Forest has hidden treasures throughout.

Of course, you can stop by and pick up a map, or a Lake Como day pass or information about roads and recreation on the forest, but it is also a great little museum.

The volunteers keep the place open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday and welcome visitors to look at the photos, historic Forest Service items and displays and feel free to ask questions.

The building was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1937 and was restored in 1991. It's at 712 North Main in Darby. Call (406) 821-3913.
