It's general hunting season in Montana, but dumping a carcass by the side of the road is against the law.

A white-tailed deer carcass was found in the Bitterroot Valley near Stevensville Friday morning, October 28. Montana Department of Fish Wildlife and Parks game warden Justin Singleterry said the head was removed and the two front quarters of the animal were left to waste.

Singletery said the carcass was dumped off the side of South Sunset Bench Road, just west of the intersection with LaFontaine Road. FWP has determined the deer was left that morning or the night before.
