Dock Dogs Draw Crowds at Ravalli County Fair

A flying dog? (Fullerton Photo)
I do’t think many in the crowds at the Ravalli county Fair’s edition of Dock Dogs knew that local dogs were going to be the stars.

Each morning, owners registered their dogs to jump in the competition, leading to the grand finale Saturday evening. The announcer reminded them of the World Record (over 30 feet) and the cheering crowd encouraged dogs and their handlers to jump a little bit farther each time they approached the pond.

No world records from the Ravalli County Fair, but a lot of fun…and wet dog smell!
