One of KLYQ's favorite guests on "The Event Show" - Dominic Farrenkopf - had planned to sign his first book Saturday at Chapter One Book Store in Hamilton. Weather has delayed delivery!

The book signing will probably happen as late as February, according to Chapter One Book Store. Farrenkopf found out that the shipment had been delayed in the midwest - and the unusually strong polar vortex weather event was the cause.

Dominic has been writing poems for a long time, and last year became a weekly contributor to the Ravalli Republic newspaper. His book "These Poems Need Homes - Whose Idea Was This Anyways?" will be arriving from the publisher within the next couple of weeksand Chapter One Book Store has invited Dominic to a signing whenever the shipment arrives.

The book contains all the newspaper-published poems plus a few extra.

Dominic has been a promoter of poetry in the Bitterroot Valley, initiating the annual Ravalli County Fair Poetry Contest and often bringing one of his creations to KLYQ Radio's Friday "Event Show." At that show, he is usually talking about some community activity or concert at Sapphire Lutheran Homes, where he works. But he always ends the interview with a poem - often one that tickles the funny bone and freely uses the Bitterroot valley vernacular.

If you're impatient you can check out his poems on the Ravalli Republic website and he has a poetry blog on the internet "Poems and Ribosomes". He also has an active Facebook page.
