Marty Essen of Victor will bring his nationally acclaimed "Around the World in 90 Minutes" show to Corvallis to raise money for the Corvallis Middle School Science Olympiad team.

The team won the Montana competition and has the chance to be in the national finals in Orlando, Florida, but they need to raise funds to get there.

Essen will help with a presentation January 18 of his one-man show, filled with multi-media features from his book "Cool Creatures, Hot Planet: Exploring the Seven Continents." (see photo)

He divides his show into eight segments, covering his adventures encountering endangered species around the world. Highlights include charging elephants, piranhas, humpback whales and a hippo attack.

After each show, he opens up the floor for questions.

The presentation will be in the Corvallis High School old gym Saturday at 6 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students and kids under 8 are free. Tickets will be sold at the door.
