With such a short summer\, we decided to squeeze as many activities as we could into one event. Compete in the Adult Beer Olympic Games\, which include adult-size Slip and Slide kickball\, beer pong\, flip cup and bean bag toss.    Gather your five closest friends and put together a team. Show up by yourself and we will assign you some new friends.    Adding to the fun will also be an adult mini pool lounge\, a mechanical  bull and a DJ dance party hosted by the Tallest DJ in America Aaron  Traylor!    Don't forget your costumes\, because the only thing serious about this party is the fun. We will keep the water and beer on tap\, you bring the sunscreen.    Prizes will be awarded for costumes and "Olympic performances." The grand prize will be a pair of tickets to the upcoming Shinedown concert on July 28 in Missoula\, and runner up prizes include tickets to other area events. DESCRIPTION:Our Radio Rafting Trip is Sunday\, Aug. 26! We will take you down 16 miles of the Clark Fork River through the Alberton Gorge.    In addition to the gorge's awesome 15 rapids\, splashes and excitement\, the river runs past gorgeous scenery and meanders through deep canyons with crystal blue tributaries.    There is plenty of history and folklore to be encountered during the trip too. Lunch will be served half way down the river at Sandy Beach. Adventures with Western Waters provides us with a delicious sandwich spread on their homemade focaccia bread\, fresh homegrown veggies and homemade dessert!    The cost is only $65 dollars per person and includes your bus transportation\, all of your gear for a full day of rafting\, and a homegrown catered lunch! DESCRIPTION:Come out to McCormick Park at 625 Cregg Lane in the heart of Missoula and participate in the 5th annual Montana Made Run on Saturday\, April 27\, 2013.  This race supports and features Montana Made Business and Products\, with all proceeds going to the International Association of Firefighters Burn Foundation.  Choose from a 5K\, 10K\, or the 5K Donut Challenge.  Both the 5K and 10K are stroller and dog friendly\, we just ask that the strollers and dogs line up at the rear of the pack and the dogs are on leashes.  Both distances start and finish at McCormick Park. The first 4+ kilometers of the 5K and 10K course are the same. Just after going under the railroad tracks near Hickory Street the two courses separate with the 10K continuing out into the River Road area and the 5K heading back to the finish. This event is for competitive and non-competitive runners. Awards are for both distances and will be given to top 3 overall as well as 1st place in each age division.  There are 6 age divisions.  Those who choose to participate in the Donut 5K challenge will be required at each mile mark to eat the number of donuts for which mile they are at.  That means 1 donut at mile 1\, 2 donuts at mile 2\, and 3 donuts at mile 3.  A total of a half dozen donuts will be consumed.  Donuts must be consumed at that mile mark and cannot be eaten while running.  Awards will be given to the top overall male and top overall female in the donut division.  Entry fee is $15 for the traditional 5K and 10K and $17 for the donut 5K challenge.  Entry includes a raffle ticket for great Montana Made products along with a meal ticket for the BBQ featuring Montana Kobe Beef Burgers.  All details including registration and schedule and be found online at www.montanamaderun.org. Their next big fundraiser is a wine and whiskey tasting.    If you’ve ever seen a western\, then you know that everyone in the west drinks whiskey. That is\, unless they’re yellow-bellied. You don’t get much more western than Montana and rodeo. What better way to help raise a little money for a good cause than with a whiskey tasting? The chicks do realize that not everyone likes whiskey\, so they're letting those who don’t taste wine instead.    If wine and whiskey aren’t your forte\, never fear\, because these lovely ladies are also offering up some of the best local micro-brews too. Of course\, the afternoon wouldn’t be complete without some deliciously heavy appetizers for everyone to enjoy.    If you would like to join them at this uniquely Montana beverage tasting\, then come on down to The Canyon Club at the top of Washington Grizzly Stadium at 6 p.m. on May 3. SUMMARY:FCCC Benefit Youth Group Auction
DESCRIPTION:Our youth group is having a benefit auction on April 27th from 6:00-9:00 p.m.  We will be having a free dinner and free childcare for the auction\, held at Florence Carlton Community Church at 20075 Old Hwy 93 south\, 3 miles north of Florence.    Many local businesses and individuals have donated wonderful items for this auction\, including but not limited to: Fishing trips\, vacation rentals\, guns\, ammo\, trail horse that is also used for packing\, custom made fly rods\, leather works\, art\, antiques\, auto repair certificates\, massages\, salon certificates\, baked goods\, service / labor certificates\, jewelry\, themed baskets\, etc. (You probably even have a kitchen sink to auction off.) RLP auction house will be doing the live auction for us and there will also be a silent auction and raffle.    We are raising money for the many programs the youth group kids will be doing this year\, including building a cabin for another youth group at the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation.    We also have a Facebook page that will show pictures of some of the items\, FCCC youth group auction.

SUMMARY:2013 Texaco Country Showdown in Missoula
DESCRIPTION:The largest country music talent showcase and radio promotion in the world is back in Missoula!  The Texaco Country Showdown is designed to find the most promising country music talent in America\, and to give these performers a chance to launch their professional careers. Over 4\,000 radio stations nationwide are providing a platform to showcase all the talent. All of these stations will hold a hometown country showdown throughout the spring and summer. Nationwide\, thousands of artists will compete as groups\, duos and solo acts in the year 2013.  Missoula’s big day will take place June 1 at The Sunrise Saloon in Missoula.  The winner of the show in Missoula will receive cash and prizes and represent our town at the state contest\, which will be held August 3 at the Montana State Fair in Great Falls. The winner of the state title will receive one thousand dollars in prize money and the opportunity to advance to the regional competition this fall.  Regional winners will then receive an all-expense paid trip to compete in the nationally televised finals. At stake is a grand prize of $100\,000 and the coveted national title.  One of the keys to the success of this competition is the careful selection of judges.The judging system for the entire contest – local\, state\, regional and national – is uniform\, with five categories and a 10-point scoring system. The Texaco Country Showdown also encourages the use of original compositions. Contestants may earn bonus points for performing their own music.  The Texaco Country Showdown has helped open the door for many notable individuals\, including Martina McBride\, Tim McGraw\, Miley Cyrus\, Brad Paisley and Miranda Lambert.
