Fires and Smoke – Wednesday August 15 Update

The fire was about a thousand acres Tuesday morning, but was pushed to the east in the afternoon heat and wind. It is part of the Powell SBW East Complex of a number of smaller lightning caused fires, which include the Cedar fire and to the north, the Feern Fire, which has also spread smoke into the valley.
The fires are being monitored by the Nez Perce National Forest.
