Florence Schools Evacuated Due to Sickness [AUDIO]

School officials report that a substantial number of students have gone home ill and called in sick Wednesday and Thursday.
Ravalli county Health Director Judy Griffin and Ravalli County Public Health Officer Carol Calderwood confirmed that there is an acute gastroenteritis outbreak, but have not attributed these symptoms to a particular virus. Anyone who has these symptoms is advised to stay home for 72 hours AFTER symptoms stop.
The Florence-Carlton Schools may open on Monday, but even then, students who became sick are advised to follow the 72-hour rule. The Florence schools have cancelled their weekend activities.
Judy Griffin and Carol Calderwood talked to KLYQ/KGVO’s Jon King mid-day Thursday.
