Ladies, do you remember your preteen years? Do you remember those talks you had with your girlfriends? The ones who had older sisters? The talks about the red death? The crimson tide? Aunt Flo?

Now that we are grown women it’s hard not to think back at those memories and laugh. I remember when my first friend entered into womanhood, and then another and another. I couldn’t help but think that I it would never happen to me.

It was like all my friends were part of some club that I couldn’t be a part of. They shared some secret bond that I just couldn’t understand. There was nothing that I wanted more than to join them on their journey to becoming a woman.

I never lied to my mother about when I became a woman, but I did lie to my friends. It was hard not to. When you’re that age, all you want to do is fit in and unfortunately lying about my period starting was the way to fit in.

This video so aptly portrays this time in a girl’s life with a hilarious twist. It makes me wish I had at least one daughter so that I could celebrate my daughter’s journey into womanhood.
