Forest Fire in Idaho Coming to Montana

UPDATE – AUGUST 19 – 10:30AM
The Saddle Fire is about 600 acres in the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness. The fire is approaching the Bitterroot National Forest with the westerly winds. The fire is being monitored for wilderness purposes.
YESTERDAYS REPORT –
A forest fire south of the Bitterroot Valley put up a column of smoke Thursday afternoon, August 18.
The Saddle Fire on the Salmon-Challis National Forest is located south of Woods Creek Pass. The fire is in Idaho, miles south of Painted Rocks Reservoir.
However, with the strong west wind, smoke has been drifting into the south end of the Bitterroot Valley. No structures are in danger at this time. KLYQ will provide updates as we get them from Forest Service officials.
