The Mustang Fire, south of the Bitterroot Valley, did not grow substantially Tuesday. It is an estimated 246,160 acres.

Officials are considering measures to take for travelers on US 93, if the fire reaches the roadway. The fire is currently about 3 miles away, but has been moving east toward the road between Lost Trail Pass and North Fork, Idaho. Officials expect if it does reach the road, there will be traffic delays and pilot cars, but if that were to happen, plenty of public notice would be sent out.

The smoke-producing Powell SBW Complex grew to about 34,000 acres Tuesday, mostly toward US 12 on the Idaho side of Lolo Pass.

The weather forecast for Wednesday and Thursday calls for wind to increase throughout the period - no rain.
